Letter to the Editor
Reader calls newspaper flag boring, devoid of PSU

There is nothing good looking or classic about the new Collegian flag. I consider this new flag to be, by far, the lamest in the history of the Collegian/Free Lance. It doesn't take a graphic designer to open up Photoshop, select Times New Roman and type "The Daily Collegian."

In case you have forgotten, the Collegian is Penn State's student newspaper.

A symbol such as the Lion or Old Main on the Penn State school newspaper makes logical sense, but then again, I am only an engineer. Placing Old Main on the flag does not invalidate your objectivity when reporting administrative issues. However, your new "Weekly Grades" section certainly shows your slant.

Whatever happened to "if it isn't broke, don't fix it?" The new flag is boring and completely devoid of anything that reminds me of the Blue and White.

The Daily Collegian could now be any school's newspaper. Way to go Collegian staff, you screwed up, again. Why not try Wingdings font next week?
