Theft suspected in apartment

Assorted jewelry and electronic equipment, including televisions, laptops, DVDs, DVD players, recorders and camera equipment, were reported stolen from the 1600 block of South Ashwicken Court Friday. The total value of the stolen goods was reported at $14,000, which includes $6,000 worth of DVDs.

Students say they were punched in car

The State College Police Department said two Penn State students reported being punched while sitting in a car on the 400 block of Locust Lane at about 2:45 Sunday morning. Police said several students were shouting at girls when an unknown person, described as a white, college-age man in a tan T-shirt, walked to the front passenger window and punched the passenger. When a passenger in the back seat told the man to stop, he was punched as well, police said.

The second passenger, 19, was taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center to be treated for a broken nose. Anyone with information should call State College Police at 814-234-7150.
