The official tryout day of Wednesday, September 27th will consist of a pro-style workout and evaluation followed by a scrimmage.
Lions' Fawcett earns Big Ten POW honors
Penn State women's volleyball sophomore outside hitter Nicole Fawcett has been named the Big Ten Player of the Week.
It is the first honor of the season for the Nittany Lions and the fourth career award for Fawcett, who earned the accolade three times last season and became the first freshman in Penn State history to win the honor.
The award brings Penn State's total Big Ten Player of the Week honors to 45 since joining the conference for the 1991 season.
Fawcett was named the Most Valuable Player of the Penn State Invitational last weekend after helping the second-ranked Nittany Lions improve to 6-0 for the year. Fawcett played well in the invitational, hitting no lower than .391 with 12 or more kills in all three matches.
For the weekend, Fawcett averaged 4.89 kills per game on .500 hitting with 0.78 digs and blocks per game.
Penn State takes to the road for perhaps their biggest preseason tests next weekend when it faces No. 13 Missouri and No. 8 Texas at the Texas Classic in Austin, Texas.
