Pre-season polls inaccurate

The real fantasy football is the pre-season college football polls and any "analysis" on the upcoming college football season before even one game is played. I can't believe that news and sports organizations bother issuing any rankings before the season starts. As a Penn State alumnus, I find it very laughable.

Penn State won two national championships in 1980 and 1986, and I know they weren't ranked No. 1. Then you have last year when Penn State wasn't even ranked in the top 25, yet they finished the season ranked number three and would have had a chance at the national championship if an official had not added time on the clock giving Michigan another play.
