Police say student possibly raped

An 18-year-old freshman student reported Sunday to the State College Police Department that she thinks she was raped sometime overnight between Saturday and Sunday.

Police said the woman was outside of the downtown area when the alleged rape occurred. The alleged victim was treated at Mount Nittany Medical Center and police could not give any other details. The incident is under investigation, police said.

Man and Woman allegedly assaulted

State College Police Department said an unknown Asian man assaulted a man and a woman Aug. 27 in their third-floor bedroom of a residence on the 200 block of South Pugh Street.

The couple reported to police that the man was allegedly touching them while they slept, police said. They told police they did not know the man, but described him as college-aged, about 5-feet 5-inches tall, with a medium build and dyed blonde-orange hair with dark roots, police said. Police could not say if the two were students. The investigation is still ongoing, and police are trying to determine the identity of the man.

Involvement Days program begins

The Involvement Days program begins today with the Student Organization Fair from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Alumni Hall in the HUB-Robeson Center. Involvement Days, a program sponsored by the Center for Student Engagement, is designed to introduce new students to organizations and involvement opportunities both on campus and in the community.
