The tunnel behind the south end zone of Beaver Stadium holds a special place in Penn State lore.
It is where generation after generation of Penn State football players have waited nervously to start decades worth of football games.
It is also a place that every Penn State fan longs to be. A place where a fan can get an amazingly candid look inside the psyches of the young men who wear the blue and white.
The Penn State football coverage fans can find in the pages of the Collegian's Stadium magazines and daily sports sections give fans the chance to look at the view from inside the tunnel.
All year, the Daily Collegian sports staff will bring you compelling and in depth coverage of the Penn State football team, which rivals that found in any news outlet covering the team.
In this, our first stadium issue of 2006, fans will find information on all 12 opponents on Penn State's 2006 schedule.
They will also find a guest column by NFL Hall of Fame writer Ira Miller. Miller recently left the San Fransisco Chronicle where he covered the 49ers and Raiders for 28 years, but he got his start right here in the pages of the Daily Collegian.
Many other nationally known writers like USA Today's John Saraceno, and Sports Illustrated's Tom Verducci did as well, and this staff will strive to live up to the lofty standards that their successes have set.
These pages are filled with information for you, the fans, and if you have any suggestions on how we can better serve our readership, please email me at jak440@psu.edu.
Enjoy the game.
