Don't believe everything you hear. Penn State is host to a number of urban legends that may have some students fooled.

You love them. You hate them. At times, you want to strangle them.

Freshmen who are used to typical high school dinner-and-a-movie dates may find the college dating scene especially hard to adjust to.

Area & Campus Telephone numbers

Beer pong. Getting wasted. Canyon Pizza at 2 in the morning. Worshipping the porcelain goddess. Passing out. Hangovers.

From conventional traditions such as attending football games at Beaver Stadium to other traditions deemed otherwise unconventional, Penn State students have a number of ways to pass on Penn State pride.

To greek or not to greek, that is the question.

You're not in high school anymore.

Their shrieks and shouts flow through the streets of Beaver Canyon every fall. Then, by the end of January, they disappear as quickly as they came.

As a part of their new college experience, Penn State freshmen also have the opportunity for a spiritual growth.

From the Paintball Association to Glee Club and everything in between, Penn State hosts more than 700 clubs and organizations so that nobody feels left out.

They have your address. They have your phone number. They're giving away free gifts. They're the credit card companies.

Whip out that ID card. Your days of fancy restaurants and home-cooked meals are long gone.

Many incoming Penn State freshmen come from areas where buses aren't a common sight. However, because the Centre Area Transportation Authority (CATA) buses are such an integral tool for the lazy Penn State pedestrian, it helps to know your CATA ins and outs.

Imagine not being able to sit or sleep for an entire weekend.
