Minimum wage law not fair to big corporations

Yet again, socialism rears its ugly head on the editorial page in "Wage law good for Chicago" July 28. I'm not even surprised anymore. There are several things that could happen because of this ruling. The first is that Wal-Mart and all big box stores either do not ente, or close down their stores in Chicago. Not only will this not bring in new jobs, but it will get rid of those already existing. Why should big corporations capitulate to communists and lose money because of them? It would be no sweat off of their back to close down and fire all those people. Next, any items that the big box retailers could sell for less will not be able to be purchased. Assuming that the corporations would close down their stores, not only would these "poverty level" people be out of jobs, but they also wouldn't be able to purchase anything. This is the ultimate hypocrisy.

The last thing you have to consider is that we are talking about the most basic jobs. Every person here is going to college so that they'll have a skill set that is not easy to come by, and thus will make more money in the real world. That's why doctors make so much money.

Why should big box corporations be forced to pay more money for a job that is barely worth minimum wage?
