This letter is in response to the editorial "Minor will open eyes" July 28. I'm sure that the addition of the Latino Studies minor is a welcome addition to the Penn State curriculum. However, I don't see the connection between the new minor and the fact that illegal immigrants are breaking American laws by crossing our border illegally, drawing on our social services, while many do not pay taxes. There are legal methods to entering our country. However, these illegal immigrants do not choose to follow these laws and instead jump the line to enter a country. I'm all for sharing, if done in a legal method. Thanks for the announcement of the new minor, but let's keep your politics in perspective.
