Rec Hall facility will not solve current gym woes

I am disappointed in the Board of Opinion in the editorial "More places to work out," July 19.

Although it is great that lines might be slightly reduced at the gym, I am not confident that a modified Rec Hall will entirely solve the problem. Moreover, I am most upset at the notion that with all of the money I pay for tuition, I cannot have a decent place to lift weights without paying more money.

I understand that gyms and the YMCA are more expensive, but I also know that I pay thousands of dollars to improve as a person at college. I do not think that growth should be limited to the realm of academics. I am disappointed in the university for denying me the right to work out without cost, but I am more disappointed that the Board at the Collegian does not see how disrespectful this action is to the students.
