All-America linebacker Paul Posluszny leads the list of five Nittany Lions that have been named to the watch lists for the Bednarik and Maxwell Awards and the Outland Trophy.

Posluszny is joined on the Bednarik Award Watch List by senior linebacker Tim Shaw and junior linebacker Dan Connor. The Sporting News ranks the group the nation's No. 1 linebacker unit.

Sophomore wide receiver Derrick Williams is on the Maxwell Award Watch List, presented to the nation's top player. Seven Penn State players have won the Maxwell, more than any other school, with tailback Larry Johnson the last honoree in 2002.

Levi Brown is also among the top candidates for the Outland Trophy, which is presented to the nation's top offensive or defensive lineman by the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA).
