To get straight to the point, the fact that more people aren't upset with this in the "Voices" section scares me ("Voices: What do you think of PSU's action against Rene Portland," April 28). Discrimination in higher education settings is intolerable. Professional coaches get fined a great deal more for a great deal less and one would think that a prestigious university would have higher standards for their staff. Also, aren't most bathroom stalls littered with diversity awareness posters celebrating culture and combating discrimination? This is certainly a mixed message Penn State is sending. Great coach, intolerable action.
