Hillel owes its members apology for sponsorship
In response to the argument surrounding Josh Stulman's Portraits of Terror art exhibit, I would like to draw attention to Penn State Hillel's sponsorship of the exhibit ("Hillel demands apology from PSU," April 27). I do not approve of censorship, and I think any expression of opinion, even when that opinion is racist, should be allowed to be heard. However, I do have a problem with the sponsorship of such an opinion by a campus religious group. By sponsoring the event, Tuvia Abramson, executive director of Hillel, symbolically spoke for all Hillel students. I am absolutely positive that not all Hillel students share the views of Stulman and Abramson. Just as Hillel calls for an apology from Penn State, I would urge Hillel to apologize to its members for inappropriately sponsoring a one-sided, racist opinion. Steven Coraor
