Allies' protesting tactics fail to persuade public
Regarding the article, "Student groups protest choice to keep Portland," April 27, I would just like to ask the Allies protesters who felt the need to disrupt Old Main Wednesday if they have ever heard, "what you say speaks so loudly, people cannot hear what you are trying to say?" Maybe if the members of the group stopped running around preaching to people about their sexuality, then they could realize that people just don't care. They need to stop asking for special treatment and go about their lives like everyone else. If they do not make an issue of being gay, others will not either. Because they think being gay is so important, maybe they should tattoo it across their foreheads so people know before they yell into the microphone. Mark Lasich
