Transition group members can eliminate impropriety
The Daily Collegian's editorial board was understandably worried that the University Park Undergraduate Association transition group might very well create an elections code that would give them a great advantage in the October elections ("University Park Undergraduate Association Transition Group: Composition minimizes student advocacy," April 26). But there is a very simple way for the group to avoid this temptation: To make the first regulation that anyone on the transition group cannot run in the first set of elections. Even if the group only has best the intentions of the students in mind, such a rule would eliminate the appearance of any impropriety. Frank Gunter
