A Penn State freshman accused of stealing three cameras, two Apple iPods and a laptop from a Simmons Hall dorm room waived his preliminary hearing yesterday.
Dustin McLaughlin, 18, of Philadelphia, was charged with five felonies April 19 in connection with an incident in which someone trespassed into a room Feb. 4 while the occupants slept and removed $2,692 worth of items.
Former student and Mr. Black Penn State Anthony Thrash-Strong was arrested Tuesday on charges of burglary in connection with the same incident. Thrash-Strong, 19, of Wisconsin, was charged with burglary, criminal trespassing, criminal conspiracy, receiving stolen property and theft by unlawful taking and released on $25,000 unsecured bail. All charges are felonies.
Thrash-Strong was a member of the Penn State track team on a university track scholarship.
