Police Log

Theft: The State College Police Department reported that at about 9:30 a.m. Monday someone attempted to negotiate $12,000 in bad checks at Nittany Bank, 2541 E. College Ave. No money was lost, and police said they have a suspect. The investigation is continuing.

Theft: A Penn State student reported to Penn State University Police that she left her cell phone in a bathroom at Johnston Commons. When she returned to retrieve it, the phone, valued at $419, was gone. Police said they called the phone several times, and on one occasion a person answered but hung up.



In case of an emergency, on or off campus, dial 911. For business and nonemergency calls, call the State College Police Department at 234-7150 and Penn State Police Services at 863-1111.

State College police are located at 243 S. Allen St. in the Municipal Building.

University police are located in the Eisenhower Parking Garage on campus.
