Letter to the Editor
Professors lack compassion when dealing with students

What happened to the compassionate teacher-student relationship? After a suggestion made by a student in class, one of my professors changed the date of our final exam to this week from its original date during finals week. I consider myself a "good student." I attend class, turn in all of my assignments and participate. Between my other academic obligations and the new date, I sent my professor an e-mail asking for an extension on our paper.

As a response, I got an e-mail lecturing and belittling me on my irresponsibility. I thought our professors were supposed to be resources for help. I thought they were people who want us to make the most of our academic careers.
