I was appalled to read that even though there is substantial evidence that women's basketball coach Rene Portland discriminated against former Lady Lion Jen Harris on the basis of sexual orientation, the only consequence Portland will face is a $10,000 fine.

Whether Portland discriminates again is not the point; it's the message Penn State officials are sending to faculty, staff and students, the message that it is OK to discriminate once, even twice, but don't you dare discriminate a third time, we might actually have to ask you to leave our "diverse" campus.
