Driver hits 2 students on Pugh Street

Two Penn State students were hit by a car early Friday morning while walking on South Pugh Street after leaving Players Nite Club, 112 W. College Ave. They sustained minor injuries, including cuts, bruises and scrapes, the State College Police Department said.

The students were walking in the crosswalk at the intersection of South Pugh Street and East Calder Way when Milford Stevenson, of State College, made a left-hand turn in his 1995 Mazda Millenia onto South Pugh Street and struck them, police said.

Police said Stevenson was arrested for driving under the influence. Charges are pending.

The victims were transported to Mount Nittany Medical Center for treatment.

Memorial service planned for student

A memorial service for Tyrone Myers, the Penn State student who was killed in Philadelphia, will be held tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. in the All Faith Chapel of the Pasquerilla Spiritual Center. It is open to all students, staff and faculty.

A reception will be held in the Garden Room immediately following the service.
