NEWS

The results of a police probe into the legality of Club Love's Thursday night drink special will not be released for at least six months, despite the investigation's recent conclusion.

Nearly five weeks after falling from a sixth-floor dorm window and sustaining injuries to his back, arms and pelvic area, Penn State student Ryan Walton, 19, of Harleysville, has returned home for rehabilitation, his father said yesterday.

Lady Lion recruit Meggan Quinn is unwavering in her commitment to the Penn State women's basketball team.

Police have revealed that robbery may have been the motive in the homicide of a Penn State student in Philadelphia over the weekend.

Penn State students, faculty and community members on both sides of the immigration debate squared off yesterday, sharing their stories and expressing their opinions as part of Penn State College Republicans' controversial Illegal Immigration Awareness Day.

Because of Pennsylvania's geographic location and industries, pollution has become the No. 3 killer in the state, according to a recent PennEnvironment study.

It's fairly normal to walk across campus and hear "We are ... Penn State" being shouted by students -- but last night, the cheer was followed by the exclamation "We won't be raped!"

In an amended civil lawsuit filed by the parents of late Penn State student Christopher Raspanti, all defendants involved would have to pay punitive damages for Raspanti's untimely death.

The place was messier than an attack from the bar crowds last night at the first "Eat a Fat Bitch and Get Rich" contest.

Students hoping to study abroad during their time at Penn State will soon have a new destination option to consider.

Preliminary reports show that no contaminants of a 115-gallon gasoline spill that occurred March 10 at a Sheetz convenience store have leaked into the three wells located near the site of the spill and supply water to the university.

SPORTS

On Easter weekend, many Penn State students went home, while some spent most of their weekend at the Penn State Cricket Club Spring Tournament.

Racquetball is sort of like tennis and sort of like squash -- but different.

During the 2005 Penn State football season, dozens of tents were pitched in front of Gate A outside Beaver Stadium, creating what is now known as Paternoville. During those campouts, hundreds of students put in their time and effort to make sure they got the closest seats to watch the team that had, for some, been the source of all their joy during the fall.

The fantasy held in the minds of the Penn State men's volleyball players since Day 1 has been of the team celebrating an NCAA championship before a sold-out crowd at Rec Hall.

Sunday's match against No. 39 Michigan will mark the final home appearance of the Penn State men's tennis team's top two performers, senior co-captains Mark Barry and Malcolm Scatliffe.

After just the third game of the 2004 football season, expectations were already high for Mark Rubin.

It was senior midfielder Greg Gurenlian's goal in the second half that defined his status as a tri-captain on the Penn State men's lacrosse team.

She's a face in the crowd. Walking down the street, you could not pick her out from any other 5-foot-3, female student at Penn State. But when Meredith Hoover puts on her uniform and steps out onto the floor of Rec Hall, everything changes. She becomes an athlete, a Penn State athlete. Her teammates, her fans and her peers recognize her as being both a great athlete and gymnast.

Ending a four-year athletic career at its peak is golden, and senior Penn State women's gymnast Jennifer Orlando has done just that.

Mother nature nixed the first potential pounding of the Akron Zips and unreliable umpires nearly caused a second cancellation, but the rebounding Penn State softball team finally got their shots in defeating the Zips 9-0 last night.

ARTS

As temperatures change this spring, some Penn State students may feel a little under the weather.

The drama and comedy of tabloids will come to life on the stage of Penn State's No Refund Theatre (NRT) this weekend.

Three is the magic number tonight at Schwab Auditorium.

A cappella music is usually perceived to be doo-wop or barber shop melodies, but None of the Above (NOTA) sings just about everything.

It's the weekend, which means it's time for Penn State students to get wild about one thing.

Forget those finals! It's Movin' On season!

Calling all b-boys and b-girls, the local underground rap group Team Tweek has arrived on the scene with a video for their stadium anthem "We Are," to which every Penn Stater can bob his or her head.

Carrying on the proud 23-year Penn State tradition, the Glee Club will perform its annual Blue and White concert this Saturday.

Post-grunge band Live will be performing at the Bryce Jordan Center on Sunday, adding to the Blue-White weekend festivities.

Summer is so close that I can taste it -- literally taste it. And if you are as much of a coffee fiend as I am, but you can't handle a scorching hot beverage in the summer months, there are cooler ways to get your caffeine fix.

Although the red carpet may be thousands of miles away and not something many Penn State students will ever walk down in their lifetimes, the dresses that stars sport are easier to come by this season.

Self-esteem. It can be hard to talk about, but from fatties to freakazoids, it's something with which we all struggle. Why, the author of this piece right here in your grubby paws even owns up to the occasional flaw: He's perhaps a bit overcritical from time to time and is known to let sneaky sarcasm take precedence over stuff like human decency. Point being, we all suck in our own special ways.
