In response to the letter, "College Republicans' game shows inherent hate, bias," April 18, there is nothing ignorant or hateful about the "Illegal Immigration Awareness Day." It is purely meant to raise awareness about a big issue in our country.

There is no problem with an event that supports the laws of this nation, and I believe the College Republicans should continue with this event. For Penn State administrators to forbid the event would be to passively support illegal activity and abridge the group's right to free speech.

Plus, the College Republicans and Latino Caucus are working together and made concessions to one another to reach an agreement on a final plan so that neither side of the issue would be overlooked. I hope that the event occurs as planned.
