Court will rule in opposition to school segregation law
There is no way this proposed law to segregate the schools of Omaha, Neb. will pass Constitutional muster ("School Segregation: Bill would negate decades of progress," April 18). The burden is on the legislature to show the law is necessary to further a compelling government interest. The law also has to be narrowly tailored. This is an extremely tough standard to meet. Before we start getting spun up about this and hypothesizing with slippery slope arguments, lets just see what happens. There is a better chance of Jay Paterno taking over the football team than this law passing in federal court. Adam Goldfeder
