Several thousand dollars worth of items were stolen from six rooms in the Chambers Building sometime between Friday and Monday, the Penn State University Police said.
An unknown perpetrator pried open the doors of the rooms on the second floor of the northern side of the building and stole three Dell laptops, Sonic iPod speakers, a leather computer case and a small amount of cash from the offices, university police Assistant Director Tyrone Parham said.
Parham said items in drawers and cupboards were also disturbed. The items stolen and the damage to the rooms are valued at about $15,000, he said.
Parham said the department is investigating the incident, and there are no suspects. Anyone with information is urged to call the university police at 863-1111 or give an anonymous tip at www.psu.edu/dept/police.
