This letter is in response to Stephen Ott's comments regarding transfer credits ("Accepting transfer credits would hurt PSU graduates," April 11). Sir, with all due respect, it's obvious you didn't major in business administration as a student at Penn State. Your arguments are so flawed against transferring credits that I don't know where to begin.
As much as I support this university, Penn State is not the only quality educational institution in this country. According to a recent U.S. News & World Report article on America's best colleges, "good ol' PSU" is ranked 48th. I hardly doubt taking a summer class or two at another university is in any way going to "devalue" my MBA or bust the operating budget here and cause huge tuition increases.
The main reasons that Penn State's operating budget is so high are employee salaries and benefits.
The fact that anyone thinks my taking a summer class at another quality institution is going to make my degree any less worthy and cause everyone else's tuition to go up too is a bunch of "Barbara Striesand."
