Letter to the Editor
Annual Movin' On headliner pleases event's true fans

Pharcyde, The Executioners, Run-DMC ... we're all used to a "Movin' On rock vibe?" Sorry Sarah Nelson, but as a sophomore, you've clearly had little experience with Movin' On ("Movin' On headlining act fails to meet expectations," April 12).

You see, Movin' On has always included a diversity of musical styles, not just the pop-punk crap you hear nonstop on the radio. And as a hip-hop fan, I have always looked forward to Movin' On as an opportunity to see groups, like those listed above, that I probably wouldn't get to see otherwise.

I know Bowling for Soup has spent plenty of time on the radio, so they obviously deserve your praise, but they're still a one-hit-wonder with inane lyrics and a forgettable discography. Don't compare them with an artist like Talib Kweli, who has been putting out great music (with intelligent and insightful lyrics) for years.

Sorry you won't be attending this year's Movin' On, but that means there will be more room for my friends and me to enjoy the show.
