"All the people are involved in the art center in some way," she said.
Featured artists include Gush, Elli Groninger, Maya Izakov, Melanie Brockway, Jennifer Line, Anne Grout, John Hurst, June Ramsay, Amanda Staargaard, Natalie Pesin, Amy Hummer, Sonya Neumann, Cynthia Coslo, Debra Kittle Greenleaf, Kristen Petrunak, and Paul de Vries.
Grout is a local artist and potter who helped to start the biannual sales in the HUB, and said she has been involved with events at the craft center for many years. "The sales are a lot of fun, and they give people a chance to show their work," she said.
For this sale, Grout said she has included only pottery works, including small animal whistles, big bowls, plates and vases. She said although the sales have a dedicated following among the HUB staff members, the number of people who stop by the sale grows each year. "We get a whole different range of people who are just walking by -- the prices are reasonable because the artists also consider the student audience," Grout said.
The works are affordable for students, Grout said, because the prices range from items as low as $4 to $40. Brockway is another local artist who has close connections to the center and has sold works, which she called "functional pottery," for the last three years. She said the sale is a good place to get her works out there and sell some items that she wouldn't otherwise.
"It's a good venue to continue to make things for," she said.
Supporting the arts is important, Brockway said, and this sale gives students an opportunity to do so.
