'Immigrant Awareness Day' shows group's creative side

I support the College Republicans trying to spread awareness about illegal immigration ("Caucuses call club's proposal insensitive," March 30). Unfortunately, our government tends to act slowly on issues when people do not voice their concerns loudly enough. And people cannot voice their concerns loudly without being informed about it. Therefore, the more people who know about the situation, the better chance we have at pushing Washington's hand at fixing this problem. I don't believe the event is a game or a mockery in any way. I believe it is just a different approach to spreading the information. When you are on a college campus, you have to be creative to get students to listen to you. For that matter, you have to be creative anytime you are trying to raise concern about something.

So let College Republicans spread the word. Then, let's collectively push Washington, D.C. to fix the many problems with all of our borders and illegal immigration.
