NEWS
A Penn State student is in critical condition after he fell from an apartment balcony early this morning.

In 1992, Penn State student Dana Pitely set up a drug sale for police with Hari Ganapathy, a fellow student and drug dealer. Ganapathy was fined for delivery of marijuana, and when Pitely confessed to the actions she had taken against Ganapathy, he kidnapped and beat her.

While pedaling a unicycle, Chris Ruggiero juggled six balls to practice for tomorrow's show in the HUB-Robeson Center.

When it comes to drinking, alcohol education programs are taking notice that men and women are not created equal.

Autumne Shannon works just a few hours a week at a job she loves. Finding the job was no problem; in fact, all she had to do was create an online profile, and potential employers came to her with job offers.

Penn State student Mike Thompson said he remembers the impact of receiving hand-drawn pictures from a class of fourth-graders while he was in the service.

In fitting memory, friends of Penn State student Christopher Raspanti met yesterday afternoon on the memorial of Raspanti's birthday to remember him by playing Wiffle ball, a sport that he loved.

Save the glass shards littering the ground and the distinct smell of a bonfire, no one would know a fire happened here just three nights ago.

About 30 people met last night in the HUB-Robeson Center to discuss plans of action after the College Republicans planned to host an "Illegal Immigration Awareness Day," along with a possible "Catch an Illegal Immigrant Game."

Students chosen by Vice President for Student Affairs Vicky Triponey presented the tentative structure for the future of programming at Penn State in an open forum last night at the HUB Auditorium, which 12 students attended.

About 4,000 yellow and red flags with slogans "Clean Energy" and "Kyoto Now" lined the grass of Paterno Library's mall yesterday with a man-made windmill as the centerpiece.

Because of contradictory statements made by various university departments, the reason the 2007 Interfraternity Council/Panhellenic Dance Marathon will end at 4 p.m. instead of 7 p.m. remains a mystery.

Penn State officials testified Wednesday that legislation attempting to define a universal credit transfer system between some Pennsylvania colleges would be "impractical" and "damaging" to a student's education.

U.S. Capitol Police contact Penn State

The lawyer of a Penn State student accused of raping another student at a fraternity in October said the sex was consensual.

Penn State students see the signs posted outside the doors to their classrooms asking them not to leave behind empty cups of coffee or candy bar wrappers after leaving their classes.

Thirteen Penn State student activists walked into Penn State President Graham Spanier' s office yesterday morning, seeking to present Spanier with a written demand that the university adopt more stringent anti-sweatshop policies.

SPORTS

The offense scores goals, but it's the defense that holds a team together and will make or break the outcome of a game.

The win against Fairfield was a blessing, a chance to possibly turn the corner like last year's Penn State men's lacrosse team did in midseason.

The Penn State women's golf team expects to set the tone for the rest of its season this weekend. Scoring low in a highly competitive tournament seems to be the only way the team can accomplish this.

The Penn State men's rugby team has made an appearance in the national tournament for seven consecutive seasons.

Game day -- without a doubt, it's the best, most rewarding part of being an athlete. But what makes this day just a little more spectacular is rivalry and tough competition -- the two ingredients that have given the Penn State women's tennis team something to look forward to this weekend.

This weekend the No. 46 Penn State men's tennis team will look to rebound after a 6-1 home loss to Indiana, but will face a tall order -- against a team it has not beaten in the last six years.

The Penn State softball team has put itself in a unique position that no one on the squad, including head coach Robin Petrini, has been in before at Penn State. Right now, the Nittany Lions are in the sights of teams looking for an emotional upset to rejuvenate their seasons.

As Penn State baseball coach Robbie Wine enjoyed some recreational swings at the plate while his team stretched along the right-field line, it was obvious this club enjoyed escaping the confines of the Multi-Sport Complex and Holuba Hall.

As the Penn State women's track and field team looks to build success in the outdoor season, it has greatly stressed preparation as the way to get there. Continuing the outdoor season with five consecutive meets in April, the Nittany Lions will mix travel and recovery weekends as part of their preparation.

How much fun can it possibly be to run inside? Running should hardly ever be contained, and for the first time this year, the Penn State men's track and field team will take it outside.

Matches that would normally be no more than blips on the Penn State men's volleyball radar have now become imminently important.

ARTS
"This ain't no bank robbery!" says Denzel Washington in Spike Lee's newest crime caper, Inside Man.

My first exposure to the Liars was 2002's "Mr. You're On Fire Mr.," a ridiculously catchy piece of dance-punk, only with more edge and experimentation than the group's contemporaries.

As far as follow-up albums go, women rockers who come out of the gate growling often smooth out their rough edges faster than chambermaids at a Best Western.

Every now and again, a book finds its way into my mailbox, and against all of my better judgment, I read it anyway -- enter The CollegeHumor Guide to College, from the writers of CollegeHumor.com.

Is Stay Alive just a horror movie, or a larger comment on the psyche of electronic obsession in the information age? It's making me wonder, but I think it just sucked.
