Christians should not use Bible to rationalize violence

As a Christian, I hate to hear of other Christians using the Bible to promote hate ("Religious beliefs not justification for acts of violence, hate," March 24). God does not hate anyone, period. Anyone who uses any part of the Bible to try to show God's hate for any person obviously did not read the whole thing. He or she must have missed that whole "Love your neighbor as yourself" part.

In my heart, I know that God is just and that Rev. Fred Phelps will be judged in the same way he judges others (also in the Bible). I would ask nonbelievers to not judge Christianity by the actions of Phelps, but to read the Bible for themselves and learn the truth.
