Meat alternatives fail to satisfy taste buds

In his indictment of the dairy industry, Ben Ramprasad misses one important point: milk, cheese, beef and veal all taste much more delicious than formless, tasteless tofu ("Pregnancies, milkings cause majority of cows to suffer," March 21).

Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if tomorrow some hippie tells me that veal calves are regularly beaten with sacks full of doorknobs by literal "brokeback" cowboys. And, honestly, I wouldn't mind. I'd be glad to hear the cattle industry is making sure I get the most delicious and tender cut of meat possible. Way to go cattle industry.
