Playland memories remain for alum after leaving PSU
It is nice to see Playland is still remembered in the column, "Small, local stores create unique atmospheres," March 22. I feel sorry for students who never knew of the arcade. I went to Playland between classes, on afternoons and weekends, and would even sneak out while working at Beulah's Barbeque for a few games of Ms. Pac Man. I even managed to base an entire research project around the arcade that I developed as a poster for the undergraduate research exhibition. I understand the interest in the arcade waned, and that it was simply not a good financial decision to renew the lease. However, as much as I love Penn State and all things with its logos, it is still sad to visit the university, walk by where Playland used to be and see another Penn State clothing store.
