Multiple PSU rugby players deserve Collegian coverage
In response to the article, "Two Ruggers heading overseas for charity game," March 16, I would like to congratulate Tim Ryland and Matt Price for representing Penn State in the President's Day Cup in England. However, there are several other Ruggers who represent our school and country in tournaments abroad. Michael Petri has been named first-team All-American for the past three years, and this year he could be the first collegiate rugby player in the nation to earn consecutive four-time honors. Petri participated in all three All-American summer tours in Canada and most recently New Zealand for the second time. The men's rugby team is loaded with talent, yet the players often do not get the respect they deserve from the student body. Petri and Mara, as well as seniors Andy Kerwin, R.J. Krempasky, Justin Hundley and sophomore Nic Grala have represented the U.S., playing in countries such as Italy and France. Be sure to keep your eyes open -- this squad should show up big time in the national playoffs in April. Shannon VanDyke
