Bar use of metal detectors may result in some lawsuits

In response to the discussion of implementing the use of metal detectors in bars, legal implications should be evaluated before this radical move is taken ("Police suggest metal detectors in bars," March 16).

For example, those of us with implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs) and pacemakers would have to be caught before entering the establishments so that the screening would not harm us or our ICDs. ICDs aren't cheap and neither are lawsuits.
