I would like to be given a reason why the Rec Hall gyms are closed for the rest of the semester with no prior warning or explanation. The notice on the doors pointed to the new gym still under construction that is due to open in the fall. You can't tell me that the old equipment in those gyms is being moved into the new one, or that the costs of turning the lights on and paying students next-to-nothing wages to sit there and check IDs were too much. I expected those gyms to stay open for the rest of the semester. The fitness facilities here are already inadequate without closing perfectly good gyms and allowing the equipment to collect dust.
