Sound for the soul

A member of the Gitanagari temple in Port Royal bangs a drum while chanting the Hare Krishna Mantra on Allen Street as part of the Hindu holiday Gaura Purnima. It is said that by chanting this mantra, the soul becomes purified. The Hare Krishna group walked up and down College Avenue yesterday chanting the mantra in celebration.
