Two girls report harassing phone calls
Two high school girls reported to the State College Police Department that they each received a harassing phone call around 8:30 p.m. Monday. A male voice told the girls "not to go to school or you will regret it." One of the girls said she knew five other girls who had received similar phone calls, including one in Ferguson Township and one in Patton Township.
All of the girls are 15 or 16 years old, but police would not specify which high school they attended. State College police said they have a lead and will pursue it in conjunction with Patton and Ferguson township police. The police encourage any other individuals who have received similar threats to call the State College Police Department at 234-7150.
DJ equipment left at house is stolen
A State College resident reported Monday that about $2,265 worth of disc jockey equipment was stolen from a house on Westerly Parkway. Daniel Phillips, 18, said he was asked to be a disc jockey at a party held by the resident on the 100 block of Westerly Parkway and left his equipment at the house when he had no way to transport it, the State College Police Department said.
Phillips called the resident Monday and said he was coming to pick up his equipment. The resident responded that the equipment was not at the house and said it went missing after he left the house unlocked for a period of time on Sunday night. The equipment included a Gemini "Battle Mixer" valued at $100, two Axis 8 turntables valued at $300 each and 190 CDs valued at $900. Police are investigating.
