CDs, MP3 player stolen from vehicle

The State College Police Department said about 300 CDs, an MP3 player and two folding knives totaling $4,350 were stolen from a student's parked car over the weekend.

The car was parked on the 400 block of East Hamilton Road and did not show signs of forced entry, police said.

The CDs, some of which were rare live Grateful Dead recordings, were in a black faux leather case.

The items were reported stolen Sunday night but could have been taken anytime since Friday, police said.

Students wake to apartment larceny

Unidentified people entered an apartment on the 1000 block of South Pugh Street through a window early Sunday morning and stole a Microsoft Xbox, the State College Police Department said.

Two students who lived in the apartment were home at the time of the theft, which occurred sometime between 4:30 and 5:30 a.m.

One of the students awoke at 5:30 a.m. to find the living room window open.

An Xbox, two controllers and a tennis video game were stolen, police said. A value estimate is not available.
