Police give student, 23, three citations

A Penn State student was given three citations late Saturday night after he attempted to enter the Penn State Crew team's van.

The State College Police Department responded to a call made by a crew team member who was in a parked van on the 100 block of West Fairmount Avenue. Police said Andrew Stengle, 23, was intoxicated when he attempted to enter the van.

The coach of the crew team said he kicked Stengle in the face to get him away from the van. Stengle then ran into the bushes. Police found him hiding in a shrub and issued him three citations -- public drunkenness, disorderly conduct and harassment. Stengle suffered no serious injuries, police said.

Police search for men after CVS robbery

The State College Police Department is looking for three men or boys who allegedly held up the CVS in Nittany Mall.

According to a police report, one of the men approached the cashier and twice demanded to have the money in the cash register. The man lifted up his shirt as if he were concealing a weapon, although no weapon could be seen from behind the counter, the cashier said.

After the robbery, the men, who police say are between the ages of 14 and 18, walked toward Kaufmanns, where they were captured on videotape.

Police have the videotapes of the suspects and will post photos of the suspects on their Web site, www.statecollegepa.us, as soon as possible, Sgt. Chris Fishel said.

Anyone who has information regarding the robbery or the suspects is asked to call the State College police at 234-1750.
