Implementation of UPUA would benefit PSU students
I find it particularly interesting that USG President Galen Foulke is actually trying to remove himself from the office he has held for the past two years because he knows USG is not the true voice of the students ("The Referendum," Feb. 28). I have no recollection of anything USG has done to benefit me, or any of my fellow students, except to provide reading material in The Daily Collegian about how the members argue among themselves and never accomplish any goals they have set forth. That being said, I was excited to vote in favor of the proposed University Park Undergraduate Association (UPUA) yesterday because this is a great effort by the students for the students. Just last week more minority representation was added to this new board, showing that the UPUA is being formed around the needs of the students, not the administration. It's time that our voice is heard and not muffled by USG representatives. Samantha Marpe
