Thank you Daily Collegian for addressing Penn State spokesman Bill Mahon's disrespectful remarks about the circumstances surrounding the death of Penn State student Michael Donahue ("University Response: Official response trivializes student death," Feb. 24).

In a time when family and friends are mourning his loss, Mahon offered condolences on behalf of the university, while belittling Donahue's choices. Mahon made assumptions regarding the circumstances of the attack before anyone knew what really happened that night.

Mahon owes an apology to the Donahue family and the many people who Donahue touched during his life.
