Alcohol contributes to many PSU student injuries, deaths
Upon reading Springer Wahls' letter, "Blaming deaths on alcohol illogical of PSU spokesman," Feb. 23, I almost laughed at the letter because of Wahl's own illogic. Before criticizing Penn State spokesman Bill Mahon for his opinion that alcohol is responsible for some accidents, Wahl states that alcohol is the problem of some accidents. How can he call the vice president of university relations illogical when he make the same points as Mahon? It is a fact that alcohol was responsible for these accidents, and it's very likely they wouldn't have happened if the persons involved had not drank. I'm not embarrassed for Penn State to hire someone who realizes the alcohol plight at this school; I'm embarrassed it admits very confused people. The next time Wahl writes a letter, he should try to include a little logic in his argument. Matthew Elensky
