PSU basketball loyalists to be honored at BJC
The Penn State men's and women's basketball teams will be looking to reward and thank their fans with victories, prizes and surprises as the teams play their final regular season home games this weekend.
"Fan Appreciation Day" will be held at the Nittany Lions' game vs. Northwestern on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. and at the Lady Lions' clash with Ohio State on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
In addition, any unused men's or women's tickets from a home game earlier this season can be exchanged for a general admission ticket for the corresponding team this weekend.
The Nittany Lions will honor their lone senior, forward Travis Parker prior to the contest with the Wildcats. Coach Ed DeChellis' squad (13-12, 5-9) can clinch a winning regular season with a victory over Northwestern.
The first 1,000 fans entering the Jordan Center on Saturday will receive a Nittany Lion Wind-up Toy.
In addition to the PHEAA $25,000 Hot Shot Shootout, special prizes will be awarded to fans during the game. Zooperstars will provide the halftime entertainment.
An XBox system will be given away to one lucky fan on Saturday, with signup required near Portal 31.
On Sunday, the Lady Lions will host Ohio State. The first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive the third set of Lady Lion player trading cards. The Lady Lions do not have any senior players.
A spring break trip to Cancun will be given away to one lucky student on Sunday, with signup required near Portal 31
