Plans for Urban Village will revitalize local area
Recently there have been many articles written in reference to the State College Borough Council's plan for the revitalization of the Urban Village ("Officials set date to complete revitalization of Urban Village," Feb. 16). There have also been many opinions expressed in opposition to this plan. I strongly believe that something needs to be done about the deplorable condition and appearance of some of the houses and buildings in this area. If you do not live there or walk through it often, then you may not know that many of the housing structures are literally falling apart. Many of these buildings, including the one I live in, are disgraceful eyesores to an area that is otherwise very nice. And I for one would not mind a brief relocation if it meant the end of these sub-par living conditions. Progress in this area of town is long overdue, so please support Borough Council in its decision, because revitalization really would be a good thing. Adam Rattie
