Yes Bill Mahon, alcohol caused Josephy Ventura to carry that knife and stab Michael Donahue ("PSU spokesman blames alcohol for student death," Feb. 22). Because it happened at a bar, you assume that the source of the problem was alcohol, right? Alcohol is the problem.

Alcohol is obviously the source of the problem everywhere else. Alcohol caused that student to fight the bouncers. Alcohol caused the students to drive drunk in Maryland. Alcohol caused the drunk driving accidents. Alcohol is the source and the only reason that all these bad things happen, right?

I'm rather embarrassed for Penn State that you are actually the vice president for university relations. You'd think being hired as a vice president would elevate some amount of logic.
