Man charged in domestic threat case
A man was charged with domestic and terroristic threats late Monday night after police say he threatened to slit his wife's throat and kill her at her residence on the 600 block of Locust Avenue.
The State College Police Department said George Schwartz, 49, of Providence, R.I., threatened to punch his wife and said he was going to hit her over the head with a beer bottle. He then made a movement toward the knife drawer and said he would slit her throat and kill her, police said.
The victim fled her residence and went to the State College police station. There, she told police her soon-to-be ex-husband had threatened to kill her, police said. The police found Schwartz at her residence and arrested him. Police said he was arraigned before District Justice Carmine Prestia and is in Centre County Prison in lieu of $10,000 bail.
