Increase in DSL applicants reflects good name of PSU

Lauren Moyer provided insightful information about the increase in law school applicants ("Law school sees applicant increase," Feb. 17). I think it's startling to see that nationwide the numbers have dropped. However, it's a good thing that the Penn State Dickinson School of Law has seen an increase in applicants.

Penn State definitely seems to have a hold on attracting students to the area. As explained in the article, the town and the recruitment strategies play an important role in the increase. I credit the increase not only to some of the factors explained in the article, but also because of the Penn State name.

Penn State is an outstanding university that fosters education and student achievement. People want to go to Penn State because it is a lot more than just a name; it actually embodies what a university should be.
