Entire community will miss antics of 'Don the Mail guy'

I was disappointed to read that Don Potts' smiling face and welcoming voice will no longer be at the University Park Post Office ("University Park Post Office to replace 'Don the Mail Guy'," Feb. 15). As someone who made weekly stops at the post office for nearly a year while my fiance was stationed overseas, I will personally vouch for his wonderful service, always greeting patrons and making conversation. He and Mike Herr together make going to the post office such a fun experience. When I left Penn State, some of my fondest campus memories were of my trips to the post office -- those guys are more than a cut above the rest.

As a State College resident, I go out of my way to go to the post office on campus just so that I can say hi to the guys and bring them cookies. Don, thanks for your service and for making a trip to the post office as much of a Penn State experience as a football game.
