A Penn State student accused of choking his girlfriend during an argument Feb. 5 waived his preliminary hearing yesterday.

Matthew Pross, 21, was allegedly intoxicated when he began arguing with his girlfriend, who is also a Penn State student. The State College Police Department said the assault occurred at Pross' residence, located on the 200 block of Atherton Street, and allegedly escalated into Pross' choking the victim, who fled the scene and called police.

Man waives hearing in peeping case

A man accused of taking pictures under stalls of a men's bathroom in the HUB-Robeson Center for three weeks in November waived his preliminary hearing yesterday.

According to court documents, Jared D. Shuke, 28, of Lewistown, told Penn State University Police that he took pictures in the HUB from Nov. 9 to Nov. 30 and sold them on the Internet. He was caught after a victim allegedly noticed the camera underneath the stall, followed Shuke into the parking lot and gave police his license plate number. Police confirmed that the pictures were taken in a public restroom, and all the photos were taken of men.
