Personalized Valentine gifts more meaningful for many
I have to agree with Andrew Hanelly's column, "Store-bought gifts show Valentine's hypocrisy," Feb. 14. I'm thinking about the gifts in a red shiny bag at home, waiting to be given to my Valentine. I didn't spend a lot of money, about $15, but I'm still guilty of buying the big card with a bright red envelope. I did put some thought in it but I guess I'm still guilty of consumerism. I would like to say that Hanelly's past experience with the handmade card should not deter him from doing the same in the future. I know plenty of women (myself included) who would be delighted with a card made by their loved one. It was probably a smart decision for Hanelly to break up with her, but it's important to keep in mind that most girls are not like that. Bini Kadwa
